Hi,
I try to import my first Gerber files (I usually only export Gerber's from SL8), and I get a total mess !
I have joined the Gerber's files that come from Elektor magazine, so they are supposed to be good.
The Gerber ZIP file contains:
Two ".DRL" fles
One ".GKO" file
One ".GBL" file
One "GBO" file
One "GBS" file
One "GDL" fle
One "GTL" file
One "GTS" file
What is the procedure to properly import Gerbers and get a good matching with C1, S1, C2 S2, and C0, etc...
I assume that it should be clearly defined because Gerber is the export format for PCB manufacturing.
Thank you very much

Re: Gerber Files import
Importing Gerber can be tricky sometimes.
Your Gerber files contain a special “nagative” mode that Sprint Layout cannot import. However, you can import these files. After that you will notice a big zone which covers the complete PCB (either on C1 and also on C2). You will have to delete these zones and you can see the layout-elements which were covered. You may also activate the automatic-ground-plane in Sprint-Layout for C1 and C2.
Please note: It is absolutely necessary to check the layout carefully and compare it with the original.
If you do all this, you can get this result:

Re: Gerber Files import
How can I delete these zones ?You will have to delete these zones and you can see the layout-elements which were covered.
I very often use Ground planes, but I activate them manually by clicking on the icon, see attached file: But I don't know how to activate them automatically (nor what is the advantage of doing this). You may also activate the automatic-ground-plane in Sprint-Layout for C1 and C2.
Re: Gerber Files import
Just like any other element, click on it and press DELETE.How can I delete these zones ?
That is what I mean, just activate the groundplane.I very often use Ground planes, but I activate them manually by clicking on the icon
