Does sPlan support 'rubber-banding'??

Beitrag von herksen » Dienstag 14. September 2010, 09:58

Hi there,

I'm quite new to sPlan 7.0, and I have made my first schematic, but I have a question.

I need to move some (already wired) components.
I hoped that, when shifting the components, the connections would also move/strech/reshape (='rubberbanding')
but the wiring just stays on it's place, so I have to do a lot of REwiring.

Question is: is there a kind of 'rubberbanding' mechanism in sPaln 7.0 please?

Thanks for any help in this matter..

You can enable or disable the rubberband-mode in the lower toolbar. Just click on the responsable button to toggle this mode.

No. If you want to
  • 1. remove one or more component(s): mark the component(s) including the wiring (if you want to remove them too) and delete it.
    2. move one or more component(s): mark the component(s), move this/these and adapt the wiring. When the wire is connected with the component, the connection will go with the component, but the wiring-line won't. So, then you have to adapt all connected wiring-lines.

YESSSS!!!
Thanks. It works!!

Maybe time for a feature request?:
For network schematics, I'm using a program called SmartDraw.
SmartDraw has also rubberbanding, but it goes one step further then the rubberbanding in sPlan:

In sPlan, the rubberbanding works, but the connections that were horizontal and vertical will change
into diagonal lines.

In Smartdraw, the lines are stretched, but keep their hor/vert structure.

Would be REALLY great to have this feature in sPlan (v7.1?)

THANKS for the great support.
(Your great support is actually the reason that I bought both sPlan 7.0 and also Sprint-Layout 5.0!!!)
