Clock Timing on Com Receive String

Dear Abacom

I am sending data from a microcontroller USART to PL4 I just want to know what would be a good clock timing as I am sending the data at a rate of every 32mSec I have set the clock frequency at 50Hz every 20mSec ,I receive the data ok ,
I am not sure what the effect of the Clock timing is on the PL process
does it check the USART on the PC now every 20mSec and if no data received just carry on executing the rest of the program and if data is received in between the 20mSEC it excecutes the received data as well as the application
Please help to clear this is quite important for me to undertsand the relation between send data and the Clock timeing.

You have described quite well. The function of the component is described in the help file. So what exactly is the question.
